Maiden Flight
On a quest, the Hen Child is looking to accomplish something while facing her most petrifying fear: flying solo over the big city. When I was a child, I was inspired by a version of the Chicken Little story about a hen who thinks the sky is falling and makes it her mission to relay the information to the king. In this painting, my little red hen has cleverly invented a contraption to fly above her apprehensions. This serves as training wheels for her true endeavor.
